India in the last five years has undertaken a number of path breaking initiatives to realise energy justice for over 1.3 billion people, said Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Mr Pradhan was taking part at the eighth Asian Ministerial Energy Roundtable in Abu Dhabi which has begun on Tuesday.
The minister tweeted, “Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi has declared ‘energy justice’ as a top priority for India. This encompasses a renewed commitment of India to advance inclusive access to secure, affordable and sustainable energy services.”
“Energy vision of India, as enunciated by Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi is based on 4 pillars i.e, energy access, energy efficiency, energy sustainability and energy security. In the last 5 years, India has placed enormous emphasis on energy access with energy justice.”
The Minister also shared that India is well on its way to meet its commitments under UN SDG 7. India’s success in the recent initiatives gave us confidence to further expedite other initiatives aimed at promoting access to energy in an affordable, secure and sustainable manner. Read More
