The fresh bout of agitation by the Jats demanding OBC reservation benefits to the community in Dholpur and Bharatpur districts disrupted the rail and road traffic in Rajasthan forcing Northern Western Railway (NWR) to cancel two trains and divert two others on Friday.
The protesters are sitting on the tracks at Bahaj village blocking the Alwar-Mathura rail section and near Bharapur railway station blocking the Agra-Jaipur section. They have blocked portions of the national highways connecting Bharatpur to Mathura, Agra and Jaipur. They are also staging blockade on state highways at Kanjoli Line, Kumher, Deeg, Bedham, Pasta, Rarah and Delh road in Kaman.
“State transport and private buses are being diverted to alternative routes. Market in Bharatpur is closed to avoid any untoward incident,” SP Bharatpur Anil Kumar Tank said. Read More…
