The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has sounded a high alert in its two state-owned National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) in Kashmir. In the wake of increased infiltration bids by terrorists in the region of north Kashmir, security has been beefed up around the hydel power plants of Uri-I and Uri-II, close to Line of Control (LoC).
DGP CISF OP Singh confirmed that an alert has been sounded, “We have heightened the security of Uri projects. There is an increased vigil and round the clock patrol.” Sources say there are 500 CISF personnel deployed at the NHPC. Read more
