With an employee strength of 24,000 plus, NTPC presently dominates the country in the coal based generation. Simultaneously, NTPC has also chalked out plans to balance its existing portfolio of projects by adding renewable energy projects.

With an aim to transform itself into India’s largest green power producer in the coming years, NTPC is adapting new state-of-the-art technologies for producing clean power through renewable sources such as solar and wind. The company has envisaged a broad mix of energy portfolio from conventional and alternate sources of energy.

“To provide green power through locally available resources at affordable price, promoting clean energy,” as per the company’s vision.

From 110 mw of RE projects at present, NTPC has drafted its business plan of capacity addition of about 1,000 MW through renewable resources by 2017.
