Larsen & Toubro, also known as L&T Construction, has won an EPC and O&M contract from State-run hydro power giant National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) for a 50MW solar PV project in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The project is located at Theni and Dindigul districts and the EPC contract is valued at INR2.87 billion (US$45 million) with O&M services required for a period of 10 years. The project is expected to be completed within nine months.
Last year NHPC announced plans to set up a 600MW solar PV project at the Koyna hydroelectric project in the Satara district of Maharashtra – a unique floating solar array with a hydro storage
