In a countdown to three years of Modi government, CNBC-TV18 spoke to the heads of different ministries to know all about the work done by them over the years. Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal proudly said that India today had moved from being a nation of power shortages to a nation that is grappling with power surplus.
He said they have set an ambitious target of electrifying all the villages by the year-end and electrifying the entire nation by August 15, 2022. He said now with power in surplus, the tariff policy needs to be relooked keeping this in mind.
