Russia visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Russia as part of his four-nation visit to Europe, attended the CEO’s forum in St Petersberg with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said that trade and commerce has a huge role to play in changing the world and Russian companies were increasingly becoming interested in doing business in India. He said that Russia had always been at India’s side and even the business community there has helped in bringing both the countries together.
Both the countries also concluded a pact to set up the last two units of the Kudankulam nuclear plant with the help of Russia in Tamil Nadu. A joint statement about a vision document issued by both countries said, “We welcome the conclusion of the the General Framework Agreement and Credit protocol for Units 5 and 6 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant”.
