Suffering a power outage or wanting to lodge a complaint on faulty power lines or some other fault. All you need to do is to dial the newly launched helpline number ‘1912’.
This is the new countrywide 24 hour Uniform four digit number that has been started for consumer complaints across the country, union power, coal and RE minister Piyush Goyal announced on Friday.
The helpline would connect to state or discom control rooms, which would dispatch repair teams nearest to the caller’s area. All data related to the complaint would be made available on a website and an app.
A complaint number would be generated once a call is made. Everything will go on record… What the consumer said, what reply he received, when the complaint was attended to, the nature of the problem.
