To promote cashless transactions, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has introduced card swipe machines at the computerised reservation counters at the Bhubaneswar railway station to help people transact digitally.
Chief Commercial Manager (CCM) Binayak Prasad Swain and Financial Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer (FA and CAO) RS Mitra of the ECoR opened the POS machine in the presence of Khurda Road Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Debraj Panda.
The move has enabled people to pay for tickets by swiping their credit or debit cards as they have been doing for purchases at the shopping malls or merchant stores.
