Price Of LPG Cylinders Hiked By Rs 7 | Aviation Turbine Fuel Price Also Raised By 4%

Today the price of subsidized cooking gas, LPG was hiked by Rs 7 per cylinder. The increase in the cost of the LP cylinders was taken as a part of government’s decision of making price hike every month in order to eliminate the subsidy on LPG by the March 2018.

Over 18.11 crore customers are using subsidised LPG cylinders for domestic purpose across India out of which 2.6 crore are the underprivileged women who were using traditional cow dung hand made fuels in their kitchen. The government of India had last year started giving free connections to these underprivileged women with subsidised rates of domestic LPG under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna. However, today there is about 2.66 crore non-subsidised LPG users across India too.

LPG Cylinder price hiked by Rs 7

As per the Indian Oil Corporation, the domestic LPG cylinder, which earlier used to cost Rs 479.77 in Delhi will now cost Rs 487.18 after the price hike. A month ago, on August 1, the LPG cylinder rate was increased by Rs 2.31 per cylinder. Ever since the government has enforced the policy of increasing LPG rates every month, the rate of the subsidised LPG cylinders has soared high as much as of over Rs 68 per cylinder.
