Renewable energy generation, which has crossed 3,400 MW, has come as a big relief for state-run power utility Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), which has been forced to buy costly gas-based power in the wake of lower supplies by top private power producers.
Solar power generation has gone up to over 750 MW in the past few days, while wind power generation has been above 2,500 MW due to gusty winds.
Energy expert KK Bajaj said that solar power generation stood at 740 MW at noon on Friday, while wind power generation was 2,750 MW at 4:00 pm. Read More…
