The UnnatJyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) is a voluntary programme which is being implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture company of four Power Sector PSUs.
As on July 25, 2016, about 13.50 crore LED bulbs have been distributed by state-owned Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL).
The programme is playing an important role as a catalyst in promoting LED lights, while several other suppliers are also carrying out the same.
