Railway Board chairman A K Mittal on Tuesday flagged off an eight-coach train manufactured by Integral Coach Factory ( ICF ) in Chennai for Kolkata Metro The coaches of the train are on a par with any other metro coaches currently available in India when it comes to technology, ICF said in a statement.The coaches have electrically operated automatic sliding doors with a manual override for emergency.Each coach would cost half the price of any imported metro coach, the release said.A train comprising eight coaches costs Rs 40 crore. As many as 3,050 passengers can travel in the train at a time.Mittal inspected glass-roofed Vistadome coaches being manufactured at ICF. IRCTC uses Vistadome coaches to carry tourists.
