Two day Bio energy Urja Utsav has been organised by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on July 7 and 8 at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune. The Urja Utsav is aimed at bringing into focus the various initiatives in the country in the BioenergySector and towards developing an inclusive National policy frame work and sustainable mainstreaming of such technologies. This Utsav will also help to create awareness amongst the Students/Farmers/Citizens about Bioenergy.
Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas will inaugurate the event. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Harbour will be the chief guest. Prakash Javdekar, Minister for Human Resource Development, Piyush Goyal, Minister for Mines, Power and MNRE will be the guests of Honour. More than two thousand Professionals, Academics, Scientists, Industry representatives, Policy makers from across the country are participating. Besides technical sessions for different stake holders, an exhibition of various research initiatives in the country, technologies, and success stories in the bio energy sector will be show cased.
Information Kiosks will be set up for educating the students and citizens. Continuous screening of movie on Bio energy initiatives in the country is planned. Buses running on Biogas, Bio Ethanol and Bio diesel will take enthusiasts to different bioenergy demonstrations across the city of Pune. Painting and quiz competitions on bioenergy for school students is organised. Cars running on 10, 20, 30% bio diesel blends will be coming from different parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra in a rally and a rally passing through the streets of Pune will be flagged off on 7th July.
