Two units of Vallur thermal unit went out of action following a fire in the generator of unit 3. The total loss of power supply to Tamil Nadu owing to the problems in the two units is around 800MW.
Vallur units have sagged at a time when only one of the two units in Kudankulam is functional. Tangedco is now dependent on wind power to meet the summer demand. If there is a drop in wind power generation, Tangedco may have a problem on hand. Read More…
